Conflict Trainer

Which treaty officially ended World War I and imposed significant reparations on Germany?

Answer: The Treaty of Versailles (1919). It required Germany to accept responsibility for the war, pay reparations, and cede territory, contributing to economic hardship and political instability in the Weimar Republic.
Governance Trainer

Explain one key difference between a direct democracy and a representative democracy. Give a historical example of each.

Answer: In a direct democracy (e.g. ancient Athens), citizens vote on laws themselves. In a representative democracy (e.g. modern-day UK), citizens elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf. The key difference is the degree of citizen participation in day-to-day governance.
