Terms of Service

Effective date: 11 February 2026

By accessing or using Project 56 ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Platform. If you are under 13, you may only use the Platform with verifiable parental or guardian consent. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement or have obtained the necessary consent.

2. Accounts

• You may sign in using Google Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must provide accurate information during onboarding (country, school).
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
• Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate content via feedback or leaderboard entries.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Platform.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or other users' experience.
• Impersonate another person or entity.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including but not limited to questions, lessons, code, design, graphics, and text — is the intellectual property of Project 56 and its creator, Dev Tripathi, unless otherwise noted.

• You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from Platform content without prior written permission.
• The Platform's source code is hosted on GitHub but is not licensed for redistribution or commercial use unless explicitly stated.

5. User-Generated Content

When you submit content to the Platform — including feedback, forum posts, artwork, gallery submissions, stickers, or other creative works — you retain ownership of your original content but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute it within the Platform (e.g. in the student gallery, forum, or battle challenges). We may also use feedback and suggestions to improve the Platform.

6. Leaderboard and Public Data

By using the Platform while signed in, you acknowledge that your display name, school, country, and activity scores may appear on the public leaderboard visible to all users.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• Content is free from errors or suitable for any particular examination or curriculum.
• Learning outcomes or grades will improve through use of the Platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Project 56 and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or academic outcomes.

9. Subscriptions & Payments

• Project 56 offers optional paid subscription tiers (Student and Pro) with additional features. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase and may be updated from time to time.
• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or yearly basis through our payment provider, Paddle. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle’s terms of service.
• New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, no payment will be taken.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then.

10. Refund Policy

• If you cancel during your 7-day free trial, no charge is made and no refund is necessary.
• After the trial period, payments are non-refundable. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing cycle, and you will not be charged again.
• If you believe you were charged in error or experience a technical issue that prevented you from using paid features, contact us within 14 days of the charge at swisscheese.912music@gmail.com and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

11. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time through Settings, which will remove all your data from our servers.
• We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Platform.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the UAE.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
